Outpost
Private beta

Your next loop starts here.

Outpost is custom built for backyard ultras. Plan the pacing and nutrition with real numbers, line up the crew, and run every hour of race day from one screen, even when the signal drops.

Run it yourself, or hand the setup to your crew chief.

From first plan to the last loop

1

Plan it

Course information, a gear list and a custom pacing plan built around the runner's goals: timing per loop, per-hour nutrition goals and the exact items that meet them.

2

Bring your crew

Invite them with a link and everyone works from the same plan. Crew have what they need at their fingertips, so on race day the runner's only job is to run.

3

Run the clock

Your crew taps Runner In, logs what's eaten, and gets a heads-up before every handoff. Loops start on schedule by themselves.

4

Look back

See every loop against your goals, what was eaten, and how the runner felt. The next race starts with what you learned from this one.

Nutrition that adds up

Look up real products, scan a barcode, or read numbers off a label photo. Set your goals per hour and Outpost totals them across every stretch of your race, then tells you if the planned items are falling short. On race day, the crew only has to tap what's planned.

A crew that's always on

Built for the long haul. Plan your crew's shifts ahead of time, with two teams taking turns or one-off changes to cover the gaps. Race Day shows who's on now and when they hand off, and phones buzz ahead of every handoff and as the runner is about to come back in.

Race Day, built to be lived in

This is the screen you'll have open for the next day or more. Loops start themselves and count down to the next one, so nobody's watching a stopwatch. Swipe between timing, nutrition, gear and an estimated position on the course — a tap logs what was eaten, what changed, and how the runner's feeling, and it all keeps working when the signal doesn't.

One page for race weekend

Print the crew briefing, or send a link to family and friends: the course and map with an estimated live position, the crew schedule with clock times, the pacing plan, the notes — plus a link to the runner's GPS watch tracker, if they're carrying one. No account needed to read it.

Made for the format

Loops run on the clock, crew report only when the runner is in, and a missed cutoff is handled, not ignored. Set the loop length once and every loop starts on schedule, with a countdown to the next start always on screen. If a tap gets missed, fix the times afterward.

Works when signal doesn't

Race Day keeps working offline and catches up as soon as the device reconnects. What you log is saved on the device first, so a dead zone won't cost you a loop or a bite. Add it to your home screen and it opens like any other app.

Built around the crew

Whoever's organizing plans it, the runner or their crew chief. Anyone helping joins with a link and sees exactly what they need, on their own device. Crew can pack gear, add notes, and log loops and nutrition right alongside the runner, so everyone works from the same plan.

Questions

Does it cost anything?

It's free during the beta. If that changes, we'll tell you well ahead of time.

Does my crew need accounts?

They join with a link the organizer sends, which takes a minute. With an account they can use Race Day on their own phone and get alerts; without one they can still read the briefing that's shared with them.

I'm crewing for someone. Can I set it up for them?

Yes. Create the race, put in the runner's name, and invite them and anyone else with a link. You can also make other crew co-organizers, so the work can be shared.

Is it only for backyard ultras?

Backyard ultras are what it's designed around. Point-to-point races can use the planning tools too, but Race Day is built for loops.

What happens with no signal?

Race Day keeps working. What you log is saved on the phone and sent as soon as it reconnects.

How do alerts work?

Crew who turn them on get a heads-up before their shift starts, at each handoff, and just before the runner is due back. On iPhone, add Outpost to your Home Screen first.

What do you do with my data?

Only what's needed to run the app, and nothing is sold. The privacy policy has the details, and you can export or delete your data any time.
